MAKING MUSIC TOGETHER 

As part of our educational outreach program, 

educational partnerships were developed with  

school Music Specialists and Orchestra

Directors to support and enhance school 

music programs.  

We focused on high-need, high-risk elementary schools which were developing  a music program and had limited resources and whose studentbody represented the demographic diversity of our service population. 

Arts Learning grants from the Nevada Arts

Council helped fund these activities. 

The Maestro  worked with the school Music

Specialist to prepare the student chorus to perform

with the orchestra as Guest Artists at our annual Holiday concerts in December.  

He arranged music selected by the school's Music Specialist for chorus and orchestra and visited the students in school to teach them how to follow a conductor.  

This program created a wonderfully exciting and rewarding interaction that brought our services into the community, supported the growth and

development of music and musicianship, 

and brought a new and diverse audience into the concert hall.
